As Dramalay closely follow the work of Sanford Meisner whole syllabus we developed here for each course is almost on similar lines of Meisner Technique

It is a six-week long program based on the foundation of 1yr full-time Certificate Acting Program. Coursework includes acting, voice and speech, acting for camera, and dance.

Syllabus

Meisner Acting Techniques I (2 week)

Students are guided through a system of exercises developed by Sanford Meisner including: improvisation, repetition, independent activity, and scene work. The work is designed to develop the actor’s concentration and strengthen the actor’s instrument to be both responsive and expressive within the imaginary circumstances. The technique creates a more specific, skilled, and authentic actor with an organic, spontaneous, and disciplined instrument.

Acting for Film & Television (2 week)

Prepares students to translate their acting through the lens of the camera and meet the professional demands of the industry. Students will work on monologues, scenes, and audition materials. The work will be filmed, reviewed and critiqued so that students learn to spontaneously internalize direction. Topics covered include voiceovers, auditioning, technical vocabulary, and performance techniques.

Voice and Speech I (1 week

This class focuses on developing an expressive, flexible, and resonant voice with stamina and range. Students are instructed in the phonetic alphabet and diction with the goal of mastering Standard Hindi Speech. The goal is for each student to develop a neutral, organic voice for theatre, film, and television.

Physical Theatre (1 week)

This course uses improvisation to access movement as character. The goal is to understand the underlying relationships of carriage, gesture and space, developing strength, endurance, limberness and articulation of the spine.

Kids Acting program-

Duration: 4 Months Age- 6 yrs to 14yrs

The Kids Acting program at Dramalay follows the ‘Play-way’ style of teaching by engaging them in play-like situations to develop their imagination and creative skills. Children are taught not only to use their minds but also their bodies thereby imparting in them expressive abilities and self-confidence. This program is to build leadership qualities in the kids along with acting skills. This program is specially designed for 6 to 14yr kids.

Syllabus

At Dramalay the child is taken through the realms of acting helping them discover their own individuality, weaknesses and strengths. Children also learn to make friends and interact with others around. In the initial sessions they are taken through various exercises which will help them get comfortable with acting. They are also taught, though games and exercises, methods to develop self confidence, indulge in creativity, enhance their imagination, learn to trust in others and develop focus in their actions. Their presentation and oratory skills will also be touched upon helping them to be better speakers.

Duration: 6 Months Age- 16 yrs above

Bollywood Dance (2 week)

Student will learn the typical bollywood dance from our experts in the subject.

Diploma film (4 week)

In the last months of the course student will be handover to the director passed out from FTII for their final diploma film. Independent shortfilm of max 30min length will be made including all the students of the batch. Rigorous training of film making will take place in this month to make them understand each and every aspect of film making.

1yr Fulltime Certificate program

We are in process to design 1yr full time acting certificate program where student will explore 6 months in theatre and 6 months in film.

One can train the person with fix syllabus and tools in any stream but most difficult part is to train actor as his main instrument is his own body with its own capacity. Slight change in the lens or medium of expression and all you need to change the way you act.
