OUR HISTORY

Dramalay School of Acting has a fascinating history rooted in the establishment of its parent institution, Rangdrishti Theatre Group. Rangdrishti, founded in 2012 by Sanjay More, an FTII acting graduate, and Niranjan Pedanekar, an IT professional, quickly gained recognition as Pune's most experimental theatre group. They showcased remarkable plays such as "Upashya," "Machine," "Deewar Me ek Khidki Rahti Thi," "Gaokatha," and many others, including solo acts and short plays. However, as the demand for talented actors grew, we realized the need for a well-equipped training institute to prepare actors before their stage performances.

This realization marked the birth of Dramalay. Founded on October 18, 2018, coinciding with Dasshera, Dramalay became a unique acting institute that blended the requirements of both theatre and film. Sanjay More (Ex Faculty FTII) and Megh Pant (Ex Faculty FTII) laid the foundation stone for the Institute. Drawing inspiration from the Meisner Technique, Dramalay incorporated innovative teaching methods to provide aspiring actors with a comprehensive training experience. The school closely followed the structure of the Neighborhood Playhouse in New York, ensuring a strong foundation in acting techniques and performance skills.

Since its inception, Dramalay School of Acting has been committed to nurturing and honing the talents of actors. With its roots firmly planted in Rangdrishti's rich theatrical legacy, Dramalay has become a renowned institution in Pune, known for its experimental approach and dedication to artistic expression. By bridging the gap between theatre and film, Dramalay continues to shape the future of acting by equipping actors with the necessary skills to excel on both stage and screen.
